Washington, D.C.– Today, LCV Victory Fund launched a new $225,000 digital ad program focused on Joe Mitchell’s record of supporting hiking up healthcare costs for Iowans. The ad will run on CTV through November 3.

“Joe Mitchell has made it clear who he is siding with and it is not Iowans,” said Sara Schreiber, SVP of Campaigns for LCV Victory Fund. “Iowans deserve a leader like Lindsay James who has a plan to lower costs, including healthcare and energy costs.”

This ad calls out Joe Mitchell for supporting the Republican Tax Law, which included major cuts to healthcare premium tax credits and his record of receiving more than $300,000 from corporate interests.

LCV Victory Fund and affiliated entities announced their plan to surge to over $110 million into key House, Senate, and state races. The organization’s primary strategic priority this cycle is to return both the Senate and House to Democratic control. The climate group initially committed $50 million to its midterm efforts, but as voters’ concerns about energy prices and other climate-related issues continued to grow, the group’s leadership raised unprecedented resources. The investment marks the largest total spent by an outside issue group in support of Democratic candidates, and surpasses the $100 million the group invested in 2022.

Sick days

Never took one

But good healthcare is still important to me

So, I got a problem with Joe Mitchell

Mitchell supported a plan that is jacking up the premiums

Hurting rural hospitals

And taking health care away from Iowans

Mitchell took 300 grand from corporate special interests

While our premiums rose

Guess when you’re young and rich

Cost ain’t a big deal

But that’s a bad deal for Iowans like me
