LCV Victory Fund Announces at least $50 Million Investment in 2026 Midterm Cycle

July 30, 2026

Washington, D.C.— Today, LCV Victory Fund and affiliated entities announced plans to invest at least $50 million in the 2026 midterm election cycle. LCV Victory Fund’s priorities this cycle include flipping the House, protecting and expanding pro-clean energy seats in the U.S. Senate, and supporting the work of state affiliates to elect pro-clean energy and climate candidates up and down the ballot. The investment will include a strategic mix of paid media, field, mail and work with content creators.

“We know that voters are fed up with skyrocketing energy costs fueled by greed, data centers, and Republicans in the White House and Congress who opposed building more clean energy,” said Sara Schreiber, Senior Vice President of Campaigns at LCV Victory Fund. “Building off of the momentum of the 2025 election cycle where candidates who ran on energy affordability won decisively, we have an opportunity to elect leaders who will get us back on track and hold the utilities, data centers and polluters accountable. That is why we are calling out the Republican candidates who have stopped the fastest and cheapest option–more clean energy–from getting on the grid at precisely the moment it would help the most. And we’re making sure people know which candidates to vote for if they want lower energy costs now.”

This announcement includes a new ad program launching in AZ-02, FL-07, MI-04, NC-11, and VA-01 calling out Republicans for their votes to cut clean energy and raise utility costs. Earlier this month, LCV Victory Fund launched the first wave of this program with a $4 million investment, in partnership with Somos PAC, targeting Energy Bill Voters in districts that President Trump won by 5 or more points in 2024. The overall investment will include programming in federal races including Senate races like Roy Cooper’s in North Carolina and Sherrod Brown’s in Ohio, as well as additional House races. It also includes the work of state affiliates in Governor and state legislative races, in states like Michigan, Nevada, Georgia and other local races–including utility boards. Additional specifics on priority races and programs will be announced on a rolling basis.

This announcement comes following LCV Victory Fund announcing their strategy to target the “Energy Bill Voter” earlier this summer. Our research shows that 42% of swing voters are “very concerned” about rising electricity costs.

“Trump promised to cut energy bills in half in his first year. But with Republicans in charge of the White House, Senate, House and Supreme Court, energy bills are already up 18% and gas is over 30% higher,” said Schreiber. “When voters hear about members of Congress who supported massive tax giveaways to billionaires and corporations while slashing programs that help everyday families, they understand who is to blame for high energy prices. Voters are desperate for leaders who are fighting for solutions to bring more affordable energy to the grid and our costs down as quickly as possible.”

Do you see what I’m holding here?

This is my utility bill.

$350, $350!

Last year, it was $160.

That’s on top of groceries and everything else.

I hope you’re hearing me, Congressman Bill Huizenga

Your votes to cut our clean energy supply made our utility rates go up.

Why?

So you can give billionaires another tax cut? I’ve got four kids.

Congressman Huizenga, your votes are crushing us.
