Re: Weekly LCV Victory Fund Update

With 18 days until the election and early voting already underway in many states across the country, we are doing everything we can to make sure we are not only highlighting the stark difference between candidates, but also getting them to the polls. We have knocked over 1.7 million doors and counting and are launching additional paid media ads that span Presidential, Senate and House races across the country to ensure voters know the stakes this year. We are reaching out to young voters, voters of color– including Black and Latine voters–and undecided voters to connect with them about Kamala Harris and pro-environment candidates who will help to lower costs, protect our rights and support access to clean air and water.

LCVVF Field Program Updates

Expansion Alert!

NEWS: Today we are announcing a $1 million expansion of our field organizing programs in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Montana, and NY-04. This expansion is to support Vice President Harris, Tammy Baldwin (WI-Sen), Bob Casey (PA-Sen), Ruben Gallego (AZ-Sen), Amish Shah (AZ-01), Kirsten Engel (AZ-06), Jon Tester (MT-Sen), and Laura Gillen (NY-04) in the final stretch of the election. This expansion builds on our efforts to continue to meet voters where they are to both educate them on the stakes of this election and help them make a plan to vote. The field expansion comes on the heels of launching a new mobilization digital ad campaign with Priorities USA targeting young voters and voters of color in 15 battleground congressional districts.

Now that ballots have dropped in many states, we are starting to make plans with supporters about how they plan to vote; by mail, early in-person, or on Election Day. Many voters we’ve been speaking with have made plans to vote early, citing its convenience. We are also continuing to talk with undecided voters and voters that need more information about the candidates, connecting with them on issues that matter to them and to our candidates.

Results to date:

  • 1,750,656 door knocks
  • 256,111 successful contacts with our target voters
  • 73% average presidential support for Harris

Anecdotes from the doors:

  • Arizona: In Phoenix, we spoke with Molly, a voter whose main concern was climate change and noted that the temperatures in Arizona have risen significantly since the 1970s. She also mentioned that Ruben Gallego performed strongly in the Senate debate compared to Kari Lake, and she was enthusiastic about her granddaughter’s opportunity to vote in this year’s elections. Molly made a plan to vote for Kamala Harris, Ruben Gallego, and Amish Shah.
  • Wisconsin: While canvassing in Greenfield, we spoke with Kelly about the upcoming election. She told us that she’s an environmentalist, and that she wants to see the Great Lakes protected and for clean energy to become more accessible. We agreed, and thanked her for her support. Kelly made a plan to vote in-person on election day.

Paid Media Updates

This week we launched new ads supporting Kamala Harris with a climate coalition that elevates Harris’s vision for lowering energy costs and creating hundreds of thousands of good paying, American jobs in clean energy manufacturing that will benefit middle class families. These ads are a part of the $55 million advertising campaign to support Harris with Climate Power Action and EDF Action Votes, and in partnership with Future Forward.

In Senate races, we launched a $1.5 million digital ad campaign supporting Senator Sherrod Brown in the Ohio Senate race and we also launched a $800,000 3-piece mail program, in partnership with EMILYs List, supporting Senator Tammy Baldwin in the Wisconsin Senate race. Additionally, we launched new house ads as a part of our $14 million House ad campaign that we launched in September, which has now grown to over $18 million.
