Washington, D.C.– Today, LCV Victory Fund launched a $770,000 mail program focused on Susan Collins’ record of siding with President Trump. Susan Collins was named to this year’s Dirty Dozen list after an unprecedented reversal of her environmental record–falling from a 100% on the League of Conservation Voters Scorecard in 2008 to a 0% in 2024, and for her role in supporting the Republican Tax Law, also known as the “Big Ugly Bill,” which eliminated the tax credit for heat-pump installations and other clean-energy incentives popular in Maine because they help save Mainers money.

“Susan Collins has had multiple chances to stand up for Mainers and help lower costs, but she has turned her back on Maine to repeatedly side with President Trump and Big Oil,” said Sara Schreiber, Senior Vice President of Campaigns at LCV Victory Fund. “Mainers deserve a leader like Troy Jackson, who will put Maine first, protect our environment, and work to lower costs by prioritizing clean energy solutions.”

The mail program highlights how Susan Collins’ votes in the Senate have resulted in higher costs across the board for Maine residents, including utility costs. Susan Collins voted five times in support of President Trump’s war in Iran, which has led to record high gas prices and home heating oil in Maine. She also has voted to advance Trump’s cuts to Medicaid causing skyrocketing health insurance premiums. Meanwhile, Collins voted against reversing the Medicaid cuts seven times.

Earlier this summer, LCV Victory Fund announced plans to invest at least $50 million in the 2026 midterm election cycle. LCV Victory Fund’s priorities this cycle include flipping the House, protecting and expanding pro-clean energy seats in the U.S. Senate, and supporting the work of state affiliates to elect pro-clean energy and climate candidates up and down the ballot. The investment will include a strategic mix of paid media, field, mail and work with content creators.
