In Michigan’s 10th Congressional District, LCV Action Fund-endorsed Carl Marlinga is challenging MAGA Republican incumbent John James. Carl Marlinga served as the Macomb County Prosecutor for almost 40 years and has been an advocate for Michigan’s Great Lakes. He is committed to strengthening the EPA and protecting clean water for Michiganders. John James has a 14% LCV score and earned a spot on LCV Victory Fund’s Dirty Dozen list in 2020 when he challenged Senator Gary Peters. James said the jury was “still out” on the role of human activity in climate change, calling it a “natural phenomenon” and said he supported Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement. In Congress, John James introduced legislation that would roll back clean cars standards and even voted to allow oil drilling and exploration in the Great Lakes.
