In Michigan’s open seat race for the 8th Congressional District, LCV Action Fund-endorsed Kristen McDonald Rivet is facing Paul Junge. Kristen McDonald Rivet is a lifelong advocate for children and education and was elected to the Michigan State Senate in 2022, where she sponsored legislation to invest in clean energy. Paul Junge spent most of his life outside of Michigan and supports the MAGA agenda of expanding oil and gas drilling on public lands. Junge even supports the controversial Line 5 pipeline that runs under the Mackinaw Strait and called it a “safe pipeline.”
