In Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, LCV Action Fund-endorsed Kirsten Engel is challenging incumbent Republican Juan Ciscomani. Kirsten Engel is a former member of the Arizona House of Representatives and previously worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Engel also serves as the Co-Director of the Environmental Law Program at the University of Arizona. Juan Ciscomani voted to undermine the EPA’s ability to protect public health and has a 14% lifetime LCV score. Ciscomani has taken $15,725 in campaign contributions from the mining industry since taking office and voted for a bill to allow a foreign-owned company to dump toxic mining waste on public lands in the Santa Rita Mountains.
