Republican Karoline Leavitt proudly served as a White House staffer in the Trump administration. Unsurprisingly, she is one of the most extreme MAGA Republicans running for Congress this year. She is a staunch climate change denier – going so far as to call it “a manufactured crisis” – who has taken thousands in campaign contributions from the oil and gas industry. And even though New Hampshire is already facing severe climate impacts that are threatening the state’s tourism economy, Levitt opposed the Inflation Reduction Act, which will reduce harmful climate pollution. Leavitt has also called for eliminating “useless agencies,” including the Department of Energy.
