Washington, D.C. – Today, LCV Victory Fund announced the final additions to its 2022 House and Senate Dirty Dozen list of the worst anti-environmental and anti-democracy candidates: Washington Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley, CT-05 candidate George Logan, NH-01 candidate Karoline Leavitt, and KS-03 candidate Amanda Adkins. LCVVF is also up with new digital ads in NH-01 and CT-05 today.

WATCH: “Dangerously Unfit” (Anti-Karoline Leavitt, NH-01)

WATCH: “Standing With Us” (Pro-Rep. Hayes, CT-05)

The new anti-Leavitt ad in New Hampshire’s 1st District highlights the former Trump staffer’s denial of the 2020 election results and allegiance to the former president over the people of New Hampshire.

The new ad in Connecticut’s 5th District highlights the proven track record of Rep. Jahana Hayes, former National Teacher of the Year who is tackling climate change and lowering energy costs, protecting the right to choose, and fighting for common-sense gun laws. Hayes’ challenger and new Dirty Dozen member George Logan, on the other hand, opposes the Inflation Reduction Act and is a utility company executive whose parent company raised energy prices on Connecticut consumers this year.

“Down to the wire, we saved some of the absolute worst candidates for the environment and democracy for our final four additions to the 2022 federal Dirty Dozen list,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV SVP of Campaigns. “From Smiley’s so-called ‘environmental agenda’ pushing for more oil production, to Logan’s background as a utility lobbyist whose parent company raised energy prices on consumers while raking in record profits, to Leavitt’s inexperience and extreme allegiance to defeated former president Trump, to Adkins’ oil and gas industry money-filled campaign coffers, these four candidates are not just dirty, they’re extremely dangerous.”

Smiley, Logan, Leavitt and Adkins join Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters, Colorado Senate candidate Joe O’Dea, Nevada Senate candidate Adam Laxalt, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker, Pennsylvania Senate candidate Mehmet Oz, North Carolina Senate candidate Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13), and New Mexico Rep. Yvette Herrell (NM-02) on this year’s list of the worst of the worst federal candidates for our environment and democracy.

More information on the final four members of the Dirty Dozen:

Washington Senate – Tiffany Smiley

Smiley supported the Keystone XL Pipeline, as well as opening millions of acres in the Gulf of Mexico and off the coast of Alaska to oil and gas drilling. She calls for expanding domestic natural gas production and oil refining capacity in her “Agenda for Energy and Environmental Recovery and Reform.” Smiley railed against the Inflation Reduction Act and said it was “not something to be celebrated.”

Connecticut House (CT-05) – George Logan

Logan is a utility company executive whose parent company, Eversource Energy, raised energy prices on Connecticut consumers this year. Logan was a lobbyist for the utility company, and then proceeded to support tax breaks for big businesses and energy companies as a CT state senator. Logan opposes the Inflation Reduction Act.

New Hampshire House (NH-01) – Karoline Levvitt

Leavitt, a 25-year-old former Trump White House staffer, is one of the most extreme Republicans who doesn’t even believe in the scientific fact that climate change is real, calling it “a manufactured crisis.” Leavitt has called for eliminating “useless agencies” like the Department of Education and the Department of Energy and said that FBI officials involved in the raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence should be imprisoned. Leavitt has taken thousands in campaign contributions from the oil and gas industry and sided with them in opposing the Inflation Reduction Act.

Kansas House (KS-03) Amanda Adkins

Amanda Adkins, a former corporate lobbyist, was previously defeated in 2020 by climate champion Rep. Sharice Davids – they’re up for a rematch again. Adkins has received more than $100,000 in campaign contributions from the oil and gas industry during her campaigns, has called for more drilling, and has criticized Biden administration clean energy policies that “force” an energy transition “under the auspices of limiting America’s climate impact.” Adkins has staunchly opposed the Inflation Reduction Act.
