Amanda Adkins is a former corporate lobbyist and former chair of the Kansas Republican Party. Adkins, who has staunchly opposed the transformational Inflation Reduction Act, has received more than $100,000 in campaign contributions from the oil and gas industry during her campaigns. She has also called for more drilling, and has criticized Biden administration clean energy policies – deceptively saying that those policies “force” an energy transition “under the auspices of limiting America’s climate impact.” And under her chairmanship, the Kansas Republican Party platform stated that harmful carbon emissions “should not be declared a pollutant.”
