Washington, D.C.– In response to former President Trump and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s press conference on election integrity, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Victory Fund released the following statement from Megan Jacobs, Vice President of Paid Communications and Elections:

“Trump and MAGA Mike have a history of putting our democracy at risk while doing favors for  Big Oil and Big Corporations. They have consistently denied the outcome of the 2020 election and MAGA Mike even attempted to overturn the 2020 election results. Their extremism has no place in Washington and is why we will do everything we can to keep Trump out of the White House and put Johnson in the minority.  Instead of using racist and xenophobic fear mongering tactics to make up new laws for things that are already illegal, they should be focused on protecting our democracy. We are fighting back against blatantly racist attacks on our democracy like election disinformation, violent threats against election workers, restrictive voting laws, and attacks on our courts to build a more fair and just democracy for all. The future of our climate and our democracy is at stake.”
