Washington, DC: LCV Victory Fund today announced an opening $350,000 investment in a ground game to support Tom Suozzi in the February 13th special election for New York’s Third Congressional District.

LCV Victory is launching a field program today on the eastern border of Flushing, Queens. The paid canvass program will knock on 32,000 doors to mobilize and persuade voters in NY-03 to vote for Tom Suozzi in the special election. The program will also recruit mobilizers from the district to engage and turn out their friends and family to vote for Suozzi.

“We’re excited to talk to the voters of Nassau and Queens about how Tom Suozzi has consistently fought for a cleaner, safer and thriving community,” said Pete Maysmith, SVP for Campaigns at LCV Victory Fund. “Voters are eager to move past the toxic environment in the House that George Santos contributed to, and another supporter of the MAGA agenda who won’t hold Big Oil and other polluters accountable is not going to cut it.”

“Meanwhile, as a mayor, county executive, and Congressperson for the district, Tom Suozzi has a long history of investing in job-creating, cost-saving renewable energy to combat climate change, protecting clean water, and preserving open spaces,” continued Maysmith. “We’ll go door to door to tell the story about Tom Suozzi’s work for cleaner air and water, and the threat MAGA Republicans would pose.”

“House Majority PAC could not be more thrilled that the LCV Victory Fund is joining the fight to flip NY-03 blue,” said House Majority PAC President Mike Smith. “Tom Suozzi has a proven record of getting things done — from fighting polluters and protecting New York water to securing historic funds to restore the Long Island Sound, and Tom Suozzi will win on February 13.”

During his time in Congress, Tom Suozzi earned an extremely impressive 98% lifetime score on the League of Conservation Voters National Environmental Scorecard. Prior to his first run for Congress Suozzi built a strong pro-environmental record, first as Mayor of Glen Cove and then as Nassau County Executive.
