“There’s a reason John Sununu earned a spot on our ‘Dirty Dozen’ nearly twenty five years ago during his first time around, and he never got any better, ” said Sara Schreiber, Senior Vice President of Campaigns at LCV Victory Fund. “In the Senate he chose corporate supporters over Granite Staters every time, so it’s no surprise he ended up as a corporate lobbyist. Energy costs are already too high in New Hampshire and John Sununu simply can’t be trusted to stand up to Trump’s reckless agenda that is causing those costs to go even higher.”
The ad focuses on John Sununu’s record of working for Big Pharma and Big Oil and highlights how those same corporate interests are spending millions to help re-elect him to the Senate. The mail program focuses on how John Sununu’s agenda is aligned with President Trump’s and calls out his support for Trump’s health care cuts, tariffs and the Iran War, which is driving up the price of gas and heating oil.
In July, LCV Victory Fund announced plans to spend at least $50 million on this year’s midterms. LCV Victory Fund’s priorities this cycle include flipping the House, protecting and expanding pro-clean energy seats in the U.S. Senate, and supporting the work of state affiliates to elect pro-clean energy and climate candidates up and down the ballot. The investment will include a strategic mix of paid media, field, mail and work with content creators.
