Environmental Groups Calling Gardner Out for Trying to Score Political Points While Hiding his Anti-Environmental Record
Washington, D.C. —Cory Gardner put out a new ad claiming support from environmental groups and his commitment to public lands. But the ad ignores the fact that during his nearly 10 years in Washington, he has time and again voted against Colorado’s air, water and health. EDF Action and the League of Conservation Voters Victory Fund issued the following statement:
“Cory Gardner is trying to imply support from environmental groups in his latest TV ad, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Gardner’s voting record is crystal clear: for nearly 10 years he has been a threat to clean air and clean water. In between elections, he sits in Washington, DC and does what oil and gas lobbyists and Donald Trump tell him — and Colorado’s health and environment suffer. He has helped to install corporate lobbyists charged with running our environmental policy, and votes with Donald Trump 90% of the time. Gardner only seems to care about the outdoors and clean energy when he’s up for re-election.”
