In South Carolina’s 1st congressional district, LCV Action Fund-endorsed Rep. Joe Cunningham is running for re-election against Nancy Mace. In 2018, Cunningham won his race by just 1 point, while Trump carried the district by 13 points in 2016.
LCV Victory Fund’s 2020 poll of battleground House districts, which included SC-01, found that environmental messaging, both critiques of anti-environmental politicians and positive messaging in support of environmental champions, can swing competitive House races.
